We welcome all to join First Presbyterian Church (USA). You may join our church in one of three ways including: letter of transfer, profession of faith and reaffirmation of faith.

We are delighted you have been attending our church and hope you have found a home with us here at FPC (USA). We want you to know of the upcoming opportunity to attend our Newcomers Gathering, offered each month. For exact times and dates contact the Pastor's Assistant at 955-8119. We hope this orientation time will provide you with helpful information as you find your niche in our unique Presbyterian family.

The Newcomers Gathering is led by our pastors and includes a brief overview of Presbyterian history and beliefs, our missions here and around the world, and a tour of the church campus. After attending the Gathering if you decide to become a member, we will be in touch with you to complete arrangemnets, then, at a designated worship service, the class will be introduced to the congregation. Child care is available for all meetings if needed, but please let us know in advance.

Membership in the Presbyterian church is not only a privilege, but entails responsibilities as well. These responsibilities include:

• Regular Attendance is important for all Christians, for Christ calls us into community. The writer of the Letter to the Hebrews wrote: "Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some ..." (Hebrews 10:24 -25)


• Financial Support is considered a privilege by the Apostle Paul and with this in mind he wrote to the early Church in Corinth : "God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:7)


• Christian Service is also taught in the Scriptures as a vital part of Christian life. "But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." (James 1:22)
